KING COUNTY, WA — A 65-year-old man died Wednesday night after being struck by a train while standing on BNSF Railway tracks in Kent, according to Kent Reporter.
Kent police and emergency medics responded to the scene in the 700 block of 1st Avenue North, near Kent Station shortly after 8:10 p.m.
Despite life-saving measures by Puget Sound Fire crews, the man died at the site.
Authorities said they recovered footage at the scene that shows the man standing on the tracks even as the train’s horn was sounding.
The train, which had been going about 20 miles per hour, was seen stopping immediately after the crash.
