News: Man pinned by pickup truck in South Beacon Hill

SEATTLE, WA — A 73-year-old man was killed Thursday afternoon when he was pinned against a fence by a pickup truck in Seattle’s South Beacon Hill area, according to KIRO 7 News.

Seattle police responded to the scene in the 8000 block of 36th Avenue South at around 2:30 p.m.

Authorities said the driver was trying to back his pickup and attached fifth-wheel trailer onto his property when he hit a fence. He soon discovered the victim, a family member, had been crushed between the fence and the trailer.

Fire crews administered life-saving measures but was unable to revive the victim. He was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Authorities said the driver was evaluated and not suspected of impairment.
