KING COUNTY, WA — A vehicle crash Friday afternoon blocked nearly all lanes on Interstate 5 near the Southcenter area in Tukwila, according to Washington State Department of Transportation.

The accident took place on the northbound lanes of I-5 south of the I-405 merge. It was first reported by WSDOT at 12:33 p.m.
It is unclear what led up to the crash, but at least two vehicles were involved and required towage, suggesting significant damage.
Passing motorists were forced to divert through one left lane and the shoulder.
By 1:50 p.m., four northbound lanes were reopened to traffic, but delays remained as tow crews worked to clear the wrecked vehicles.

Shortly after 2:00 p.m., the scene had been fully cleared and all northbound lanes were restored to normal traffic.
