KING COUNTY, WA — A woman was seriously injured Wednesday morning after being struck by a vehicle near Renton’s La Rosa Meadows area, according to Renton Police Department.

The incident took place near the intersection of South Puget Drive and Benson Road, or Talbot Road South, at around 9:00 a.m.

A passerby in the area discovered the injured pedestrian near the crosswalk and alerted authorities.

The victim suffered significant injuries, including fractures to a leg and several lacerations.

Renton police learned the woman was traveling across the crosswalk when she was struck by a blue-colored, smaller SUV of a newer model. The suspect vehicle was last seen fleeing south on Benson Drive and making a right onto South 16th Street.

Authorities said the vehicle’s other distinguishing features will now most likely include visible front-end damage, including a broken windshield.
