by | Sep 17, 2021 | Accidents in the News |

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A driver crashed into a pole Wednesday night, causing the car and a nearby tree to catch fire near Everett’s Cascade View neighborhood, reports My Everett News.

Everett Police and fire crews responded to the scene near 3rd Avenue Southeast and Dorn Avenue shortly before 10:00 p.m.

It is unclear what led up to the crash, but the crash caused the car’s engine compartment to burst into flames at the intersection. The car then traveled backward, coming to a rest under a tree across the street. Moments later, the tree also caught fire.

The driver was able to evacuate their car safely and did not sustain significant injuries.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames after a short time.

An investigation into the cause of the crash was underway.
