GRAYS HARBOR COUNTY, WA — A semi-truck towing a trailer overturned Tuesday afternoon after its driver fell asleep at the wheel on state Route 12 in Central Park, according to KXRO.

Washington State Patrol said the incident occurred in the westbound lanes of SR-12 near Bryrwood Drive shortly before 3:00 p.m.

The semi was traveling westbound when it ran off the right side of the roadway near Bryrwood Drive and rolled onto its side, completely blocking westbound traffic.

The driver, a 59-year-old Tukwila man, was transported to Harbor Regional Health Community Hospital for undisclosed injuries.

WSP said the man faces a charge for negligent driving.

The road remained blocked for five hours as crews responded.

The tractor and its trailer were totaled in the accident.
