KING COUNTY, WA — A vehicle collision Friday morning forced motorists to divert off an Interstate 5 offramp near Tukwila, according to Washington State Department of Transportation.

The crash happened on the I-5 northbound offramp to state Route 599 westbound and was first reported by WSDOT at 5:35 a.m.

Washington State Patrol and WSDOT’s Incident Response Team (IRT) responded to the scene to help guide traffic off the ramp and back onto I-5 northbound through Exit 156.

By 6:26 a.m., the right lane on I-5 northbound at South 144th Street was also closed off to allow for traffic to turn around.

At 7:49 a.m., more than two hours after the accident, the scene was reported cleared from the ramp, and the right lane at South 144th Street was also reopened.

No other details have been disclosed on the circumstances behind the crash.
