SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA — A vehicle accident early Thursday morning closed an offramp on Interstate 405 northbound for hours near Lynnwood, according to Washington State Department of Transportation.

The collision impacted the offramp from I-405 northbound to Interstate 5 southbound and was first reported by WSDOT at 3:45 a.m.

No details have been reported on the vehicles involved, but a guardrail on the ramp was damaged and pushed into the roadway as a result of the accident.

The ramp was reported closed shortly after 4:00 a.m. as maintenance crews worked to repair the broken guardrail and clear the scene.

WSDOT recommended that motorists divert through the next exit, make a right on Alderwood Mall Parkway, and turn left to enter state Route 525, and then use the exit to get on I-5 southbound.

By 5:16 a.m., the offramp was reopened in time for the morning commute.
