SEATTLE, WA — A 30-year-old man was in critical condition Tuesday afternoon after he was struck by a vehicle in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood, according to KOMO News.
The collision happened near an encampment at the intersection of Dexter Avenue North and Mercer Street at around 3:00 p.m.
Little information has emerged about the circumstances surrounding the incident, but police said the causing driver and another passenger were engaged in a dispute with the pedestrian moments before the crash.
Following the incident, the driver and the passenger fled the scene and called authorities to report the incident.
The male pedestrian, identified as a resident of the nearby encampment, was taken to Harborview Medical Center with critical injuries.
An investigation is currently active to determine whether or not there is cause for arrest.
