LEWIS COUNTY, WA — Crews extricated a man from his car early Wednesday morning after he fell asleep while driving and crashed into a pickup truck on U.S. Highway 12 in Lewis County, according to Chronline.

Personnel with Lewis County Fire Protection for District 5 responded to the scene near mile marker 69 at 5:00 a.m.

The man had to be carefully removed from his vehicle before being taken by airlift to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

No injuries to the pickup driver were reported.

No further information was reported on the extent of vehicle damages to both parties, but the extrication response suggests the vehicle of the injured man sustained significant to total damages.
