EDMONDS, WA — Police and fire crews were called to a U-Haul truck explosion Tuesday morning that emitted flying debris in an Edmonds parking lot, according to KOMO News.

The blast took place in an area adjacent to the Edmonds Center for the Arts near 6th Avenue North and Glen Street at around 11:40 a.m.

Authorities arrived to discover the top and sides of the truck blown off and its contents still burning. The fire was put out and no injuries were reported.

A preliminary investigation found propane tanks left inside the truck as the cause of the accidental explosion.

The incident forced several streets in the area to shut down.
