SEATTLE, WA — A female pedestrian was seriously injured when she was struck by two vehicles in South Seattle on Sunday night, according to KIRO 7 News.

According to police, the woman was crossing S Edmunds Street northound at Martin Luther King Way in the designated crosswalk at around 10:40 p.m.

The driver of a northbound Toyota Prius struck the woman, later telling police that the light was green.

The woman was subsequently run over by a Cadillac Escalade while she was lying in the street. The driver of the Escalade left the scene before authorities arrived.

Officers say the driver of the Prius remained at the scene to check on the victim. A preliminary breath test did not suggest impairment.

The female victim, whose identity and condition remain unknown, was taken to Harborview Medical Center for surgery.
