News: Man killed after running into traffic in Federal Way

FEDERAL WAY, WA — A man died early Thursday morning after running into traffic and getting struck by a vehicle in Federal Way, according to KOMO News.

The incident first started around 2:30 a.m. when patrol officers were called to the Chevron station on 35505 Pacific Highway South for a disturbance.

A 42-year old man who appeared to be suffering from a mental crisis took off all his clothes and ran into highway traffic before he was struck by a car and severely injured.

The man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The involved driver cooperated with authorities. No impairment or other crime have been discovered in the initial investigation. according to police.

Pacific Highway South was closed down around the site of the incident for a few hours but has since reopened.

An investigation is ongoing.
