MARYSIVLLE, WA – A DUI suspect crashed his truck in Tacoma, carjacked a woman’s Prius, and then led police on a chase that ended in a collision in Marysville yesterday evening.

KING 5 reports that the suspect had been speeding down southbound I-5 when one of his truck’s tires blew out near Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The truck came to a rest blocking two lanes of traffic, at which point a Prius came to a stop in order to avoid a collision. The suspect pulled the woman driving the Prius out of her vehicle, hopped in, and began driving north in the southbound lanes.

Police pursued the Prius for about 80 miles before the chase ended when the suspect slammed into another vehicle. Fortunately, no one was injured, and the driver was safely taken into custody.

Authorities say he is a 27-year-old man from Centralia, and that he is facing multiple charges including driving under the influence.
