RENTON, WA – A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and injured at an intersection in the Benson Hill neighborhood on Monday, Renton police report.
BE ADVISED: Veh vs. pedestrian @ SE Carr Rd & 103rd Av SE. Ped appears to have suffered some injuries. Carr will be shut down at 106 & Carr as traffic investigation is conducted. Expect delays; take alternative route. /clm

The vehicle-vs.-pedestrian collision took place at the intersection of SE Carr Road and 103rd Avenue SE sometime before 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 17. Despite early reports that the pedestrian had died, police clarified that the individual was alive but had received life-threatening injuries.
The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators, who do not believe that drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
That area of the road was closed until about 7:20 p.m. This is an ongoing story and will be updated if possible.
