YAKIMA, WA — Police report that the 27-year-old woman who was struck by a vehicle in a Yakima crosswalk on Monday has died, according to News Talk KIT.

The woman, whose name has not been released, succumbed to her injuries at Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center on Wednesday night.

The collision took place at the intersection of Tieton Drive and North 40th Avenue. The victim was within the crosswalk crossing Tieton Drive when the eastbound vehicle hit her at a slow speed while making a right turn onto 40th Street. The at-fault driver apparently had not seen the victim prior to the crash.

Captain Jay Seely said that while the driver won’t be seriously charged, a citation for negligent driving or failure to yield to a pedestrian’s right of way are being considered.
