SEATTLE, WA. – Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal scooter crash as a 37-year veteran of the Kirkland Fire Department. The victim, 61-year-old retired Captain Keith Adams, was killed when the motorized scooter he was riding was struck by a car on Beach Drive in West Seattle.

Reports indicate that Adams was riding northbound on Beach Drive near Me-Kwa-Mooks when a motorist pulled out of a parking spot on the east side of the street and attempted to make a U-turn. The two vehicles collided, and Adams was fatally injured. Witnesses say that several people performed CPR on Adams before first-reponders arrived, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
