BRINNON, WA – A woman from Oregon was taken to the hospital after a single-vehicle crash near Pleasant Harbor on Monday afternoon.

According to Peninsula Daily News, 52-year-old Shirley A. Verluis drifted off the southbound lanes of US-101 at about 12:52 p.m.

Verluis’s vehicle struck a ditch before crashing into the embankment and colliding with several trees before coming to rest. She was transported to Mason General Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. However, Verluis was cited for DUI, open container, no insurance, and failure to wear a seatbelt.
