News: Woman seriously injured in vehicle vs. motorized wheelchair collision in Lynnwood

LYNNWOOD, WA – Lynnwood Today reports that a woman was hospitalized with serious injuries after her motorized wheelchair was struck by a vehicle in Lynnwood on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Lynnwood Police Department, the collision occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on the 4100 block of 196th Street Southwest.

The 51-year-old Everett woman was crossing the Panda Express drive thru exit when she was hit by a vehicle. She suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

Lynnwood Police Department spokesperson Joanna Small said the vehicle was being driven by a 51-year-old man from Lynnwood, who told authorities he did not see the woman. He stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. 

Small stated alcohol or drugs are not believed to have played a role.
