News: Trooper injured while responding to crash in Snoqualmie Pass

SNOQUALMIE PASS, WA – A trooper with the Washington State Patrol was struck and injured yesterday while responding to a prior incident on I-90 near Franklin Falls, KING 5 reports.

The trooper responded to a vehicle that had been abandoned facing the wrong way in the eastbound lanes at milepost 51 at about 9 a.m. Sunday. The driver of an approaching pickup truck lost control and crashed into the trooper’s patrol vehicle, injuring the trooper in the back, neck, and ankle. The pickup’s driver also suffered an arm injury.

Their identities and current conditions are not known.

Motorists in the area were told to expect delays of roughly 30 minutes due to the incident and its response.
