EDMONDS, WA – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a northbound Sounder train yesterday just south of the Edmonds station, My Edmonds News reports.

The collision happened near an off-leash dog park in Marina Beach Park at about 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Police believe that the pedestrian may have deliberately stepped onto the tracks, but have not confirmed this. Investigations are ongoing.

The incident canceled Sounder departures to Seattle, affecting rush hour commuters.
