LACEY, WA – A pedestrian was critically injured when she was struck by a logging truck near the intersection of I-5 and Sleater Kinney Road yesterday afternoon, according to the PIO for the Washington State Patrol’s District 1.
🚨 North I-5, just south of Sleater Kinney Rd. Pedestrian struck by log truck in the roadway. Pedestrian was transported to a local hospital. Troopers are at the scene. Expect delays and use alternate routes! I will provide updates as they become available!

The incident happened on northbound I-5 before Sleater Kinney. WSP troopers were on the scene by 1:53 p.m., at which point the road was blocked. It eventually reopened sometime before 7 p.m.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. It is not clear why she was walking on the interstate.
