TACOMA, WA – A 55-year-old man was killed in a DWI vehicle vs. motorcycle collision in Tacoma on Saturday night, according to the Tacoma Police Department’s official twitter page.
The alert stated the crash happened at the intersection of South 84th Street and South Alaska Street shortly before 9:23 p.m. At least one fatality was confirmed and the intersection was shut down to all traffic.

A later update identified the victim as a 55-year-old man. The driver of the colliding vehicle, a 47-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide and driving while intoxicated.
The roadway was reopened by 4:44 a.m. on Sunday morning.
