TACOMA, WA – Troopers shut down at least one lane along I-5 after a tractor-trailer accident resulted in fuel spilling across the roadway last Friday.

According to a tweet by WSP, the March 26th incident took place just after noon within the southbound lanes of the interstate, just north of the 72nd Street exit.

Troopers say the truck collided with metal debris in the roadway, which ruptured its fuel tank.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the incident. However, the right lane was blocked for over an hour while clean-up crews worked at the scene.
