News: Bellingham man killed in 2-vehicle crash in Burlington

BURLINGTON, WA – A 25-year-old man from Bellingham was killed yesterday when the SUV he was driving collided with a commercial vehicle in Skagit County.

The Bellingham Herald reports that the collision happened at the intersection of Higgins Airport Way and Ovenell Road at about 1 p.m. on March 16. Justin W. Friedrich was driving a silver 1997 Isuzu Rodeo south on Higgins Airport when he entered the oncoming lane and collided with a 2020 Isuzu NRR truck. Friedrich was killed, while the truck’s driver was rushed to an area hospital with unspecified injuries. He has been identified as 69-year-old Thomas K. Chahary, a resident of Sedro Woolley.

The Washington State Patrol was continuing to investigate the accident as of yesterday evening.
