PORT ORCHARD, WA – A Port Orchard woman was struck and killed in a three-vehicle crash on State Route 160 last Friday night, reports Kitsap Daily News.

According to Washington State Patrol’s preliminary report, the accident occurred near the Bodle Road Southeast intersection on the evening of February 19. 56-year-old Daria Klos was driving a 2006 Toyota 4Runner and pulled over in the eastbound lane before exiting her vehicle. While standing in the middle of the roadway and attempting to stop oncoming traffic, her vehicle was hit by an eastbound 2009 Hyundai Elantra. Klos was then struck by her 4Runner and thrown off the road.

The Elantra was sent spinning into the oncoming lane and collided with a 2009 Ford Taurus.

Emergency responders rushed Klos to a Tacoma General Hospital, where she died.

The Elantra’s driver, a 74-year-old man from Port Orchard, suffered unknown injuries and was also taken to Tacoma General. The driver of the Taurus, a 29-year-old man from Tacoma, was unharmed.

The WSP stated alcohol or drugs did not play a role in the incident. Our team will monitor this story for additional details.
