SEATTLE, WA – Seattle police say a man was arrested after stealing a vehicle and crashing just moments later into a construction zone on Delridge Way Southwest on Saturday.

According to the West Seattle Blog, the suspect stole a Subaru from the Arco gas station at the intersection of Delridge Way SW and Southwest Orchard Street around noon. He then fled northbound on Delridge Way SW before losing control of the vehicle at a high speed near 22nd Avenue Southwest. The Subaru careened off the roadway, crashing into an active construction zone before rolling onto its side.

The thief attempted to flee officers on foot but was arrested.

Fortunately, none of the workers were struck or hurt in the accident.

If more information is made available, an update will be provided.
