EVERETT, WA – Everett police say a male driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run after striking 16 vehicles on Sunday night.

According to My Everett News, authorities received reports of a vehicle striking several cars in an apartment complex parking lot around 11:00 p.m.

Officers responded to the scene on the 9900 block of 12th Avenue West, where they found the vehicle stopped on the sidewalk after fleeing from the lot. Multiple parked vehicles in the street had also been hit.

The 21-year-old suspect was found in the driver’s seat and smelled of alcohol. He then admitted to officers that he had been drinking earlier that night. Police believe he was nearly 4 times over the legal limit at the time of the incident.

Authorities identified 16 vehicles and a traffic sign that were hit.

The suspect driver required hospitalization before being arrested on probable cause of DUI and 17 counts of hit-and-run.
