SEATTLE, WA – Troopers with the Washington State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a 12-vehicle pileup with injuries on Friday morning.
According to the official WSP Twitter account, the accident occurred around 6:09 a.m. in the northbound lanes of State Route 599 near East Marginal Way South.
After Trooper Rick Johnson arrived at the scene, an update was shared stating a female driver was responsible for the crash and fled the scene on foot.
This vehicle caused a 12 vehicle collision NB 599 near East Marginal around 5am. The female driver fled on foot and believed to have been picked up. Non life threatening injuries at this point. More info to come. pic.twitter.com/PBE2QevGbD

Authorities believe the suspect was later picked up by another vehicle.
Fortunately, all injuries sustained in the crash were non-life threatening.
