News: Motorcycle officer injured after collision with DUI driver in Monroe

MONROE, WA – Officials say a police officer was injured after their motorcycle was rear-ended by a DUI driver in Monroe on Tuesday afternoon.

According to KIRO 7, the collision occurred near the intersection of State Route 2 East and North Lewis Street around 3 p.m.

After the subaru station wagon crashed into the officer, police determined the 35-year-old driver was under the influence and arrested them for DUI.

The circumstances of the crash are still under investigation by Snohomish County collision unit. Our team will update this blog if more information is made available.
