ELMA , WA – The Washington State Patrol say a driver was arrested after leading troopers on a chase that ended in a wrong-way collision on State Route 12 in Elma, reports The Daily World.

According to the press memo, troopers were chasing a 23-year-old man from Tacoma driving a stolen vehicle, when he began driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of SR-12. Troopers stopped their pursuit shortly before the wrong-way vehicle struck a westbound car driven by a 63-year-old man from Hillsboro, Oregon near the South Third Street intersection around 6 p.m.

Trooper Chelsea Hodgson said no one involved was seriously injured, including a 31-year-old female passenger from Tacoma in the second vehicle.

The suspect was arrested and will face charges of attempting to elude, reckless driving and possession of a stolen vehicle, according to the memo.
