News: AMR employee hospitalized after ambulance catches fire

FEDERAL WAY, WA – According to KIRO 7, an American Medical Response employee was hospitalized after an ambulance caught fire on Saturday morning.

Firefighters responded to the vehicle fire at the 34800 block of 9th Avenue South and extinguished the flames around 3 a.m. A company spokesperson said the AMR ambulance was carrying two EMS providers and a patient when it caught fire.

One of the caregivers sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation before being released later Saturday.

Federal Way police and fire officials are still investigating the cause of the fire. We will update this blog if more details become available.
