News: 23-year-old man killed in pedestrian hit-and-run accident on Montlake Boulevard

SEATTLE, WA – Authorities say a 23-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian hit-and-run accident on Montlake Boulevard on News Year’s day, reports KOMO News.

Police initially received reports of a man being hit by a car at the intersection of Montlake Boulevard and East Shelby Street around 1 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 1st. Medics and officers responded to the accident scene, where they found a 23-year-old man laying in the street and receiving CPR from a witness. The vehicle had fled the scene.

Officers continued the CPR but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police later located the suspect vehicle near Husky Stadium. Further investigation led them to the 18-year-old driver at a residence in the area.

The suspect was arrested for further investigation of felony hit-and-run charges and taken to King County Jail. At this time, it is unclear whether more charges will be filed.
