LYNNWOOD, WA – Lynnwood Police say a pedestrian hit-and-run collision in Lynnwood Friday evening seriously injured a woman and killed a dog, reports KIRO.

Authorities say the collision occurred at the intersection of 188th Street and 52nd Avenue West at around 4:45 p.m Friday evening. Two pedestrians were walking a dog in the crosswalk, when a dark-colored southbound SUV turning left onto 188th Street hit the dog and one of the pedestrians, a woman in her 50s. The SUV then fled the scene.

The collision killed the dog and seriously injured the woman who was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials say the woman was attempting to help the dog when she was hit.

Police ask witnesses or anyone with information to call 425-670-5600.
