TACOMA, WA – Police said the driver of an SUV fleeing the scene of a hit-and-run slammed into a Tacoma four-plex Wednesday night, reports KOMO

Authorities said the initial hit-and-run accident occurred at the intersection of 29th Avenue NE and Norpoint Way at around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9th. An SUV collided with a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old motorist and then left the scene. The young victim was taken to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after fleeing the scene, the SUV’s 23-year-old driver lost control and crashed into a four-plex at 49th Avenue NE and Norpoint Way. Fortunately, the three residents inside at the time were not injured.

The suspect was arrested and taken to Pierce County Jail for investigation of DUI, injury hit-and-run and destruction of property. Police say he was not injured in either accident.
