SEATTLE, WA – A crash on Highland Park Way in West Seattle caused temporary power outages in the surrounding area on Sunday, reports the West Seattle Blog.

The accident occurred around 8:15 a.m. Sunday, when a vehicle traveling on Highland Park Way crashed off the roadway near the bottom of the hill on the uphill side. Over 2,100 City Light customers in Highland Park, Riverview, Greenbridge and South Park subsequently lost power.

By about 9:30 a.m., power had been restored to all but 281 customers, mostly residing in Puget Ridge. All power was restored by 10:20 a.m. on Sunday.

At this time, it is unclear what led to the crash and whether any motorists were injured. We will update our blog if this information is released.
