News: 35-year-old woman killed, another injured in collision on Hwy 20 near Lake Campbell

ANACORTES, WA – According to Go Skagit News, a 35-year-old woman from Bellingham was killed and a woman from Anacortes was critically injured in a collision on Highway 20 near Lake Campbell on Dec. 18th.

Authorities say the collision occurred around 7:36 p.m. that Friday near the intersection of Hwy 20 and Lunz Road. Sonja Bratz, 35, was traveling southbound on Highway 20 when her car crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a vehicle being driven by a 45-year-old woman from Anacortes. Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

Washington State Patrol said Bratz was pronounced dead at the scene. The other woman was critically injured and taken to Harborview Medical Center by helicopter transport.

The next day, Harborview spokesperson Susan Gregg stated the Anacortes woman remained in critical condition in the ICU. At this time, no further updates on her condition have been provided.
