Woman seriously injured in Vashon Island pedestrian accident

VASHON ISLAND, WA – Deputies with the King County Sheriff’s Officer are investigating an auto vs. pedestrian accident that left a woman critically injured Saturday morning.

According to KOMO, the accident occurred when the unidentified 75-year-old woman was struck by the driver in a Toyota Tacoma at the intersection of Bank Road and 100th Avenue Southwest.

The woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center via helicopter to be treated for potentially life-threatening injuries sustained in the accident. Police say she was within the legal crosswalk when she was hit.

The driver responsible remained at the scene and is coopering with the investigation. Officials say the driver was not impaired when the crash occurred. No information regarding their identity has been made available at this time.
