Woman killed following wrong-way scooter crash in White Center

WHITE CENTER, WA – A Woman from White Center died after colliding with a vehicle head-on while riding her scooter on State Route 509 Wednesday night.

According to KOMO, the incident was reported at about 11 p.m. when a 38-year-old woman on a 2009 Genuine Buddy scooter was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes near 112th Street.

The woman collided head-on with a Mazda traveling north. The woman was thrown from the vehicle. Officials pronounced her dead at the scene of the crash.

An investigation into why the woman was traveling in the wrong direction remains underway as of this writing. No other injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
