DEER PARK, WA – Troopers with the Washington State Patrol have reported one fatality and one injury following a head-on collision on U.S. Route 395 early Wednesday morning.
According to KREM, the collision occurred at around 8 a.m. along Route 395 north of Deer Park.

Stevens Co – SR395 MP195, 10 miles S of Chewelah. Troopers are investigating a two vehicle head on crash.
One driver is deceased. Other driver is being transported to hospital with injuries. No other reports of injuries.
Roadway is closed.

Two vehicles were involved in the collision, which killed one motorist and sent another to the hospital.
The highway was closed for about six hours while the crash was investigated and cleared from the roadway. All lanes have since been reopened.
