TACOMA, WA – A trooper with the Washington State Police was involved in a collision with a motorist on a ramp to I-5 Wednesday morning.
According to the official Twitter page of the WSP, the accident occurred at about 9:13 a.m. on the loop from southbound SH-101 to northbound I-5.
Troopers at the scene say the driver of a Subaru was traveling at a high rate of speed when they skidded on the wet roadway and struck the rear of the WSP cruiser.
Folks, when the roads are wet you have to slow down. Thankfully our Trooper wasn’t injured this morning when a motorist spun out of control and struck the rear of his car. Tows have been dispatched. Should be cleared shortly. #slowdown#Winteriscoming #drivesafe pic.twitter.com/UkQGFjpe59

No injuries were reported as an immediate result of the collision. However, the right lane was shut down for a short time causing delays for rush-hour commuters on I-5.
