News: Sounder train hits, kills pedestrian in Kent

KENT, WA – An unidentified man was killed yesterday when he was hit by a Sounder train while standing on the tracks.

According to KIRO 7, the incident happened near South 212th Street and 77th Avenue South at about 4:20 p.m. The engineer told authorities that he sounded the train’s emergency horn and attempted to brake, but could not stop the train in time. Emergency responders pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Sounder train service was delayed while the incident was investigated and cleared from the tracks.
