by | Oct 15, 2020 | Accidents in the News, Highway Crashes |

SEATTLE, WA – A DUI suspect caused a crash on southbound I-5 that caused one car to flip off the highway and created a multiple-vehicle crash on the roads below on Wednesday evening.

According to KOMO News, the collision occurred around 6 p.m. and the one driver was arrested suspected driving under the influence of drugs.

A driver in a van slammed on the brakes on southbound I-5 and an Infiniti swerved to miss the van. It struck a Dodge Charger which went off the highway and landed on Airport Way below.

Two males, 17 & 18 years old, in the Charger were transported to Harborview Medical Center and listed as in stable condition. The third person in the Charger was uninjured.

It is unclear which driver was arrested for the DUI charge.

A driver who chose to drive under the influence puts themselves and others at risk. Driving on the highway at high speeds while under the influence only increases the risk of severe damage and serious injuries.
