AUBURN, WA – One person was killed in a collision between a train and vehicle on Sunday evening.

According to KIRO 7 News, the fatal crash occurred at East Main Street and H Street SE at around 11 p.m.

The cause of the crash is unknown. All lanes of Main Street were closed at the intersection while local authorities investigated the scene.

Car crashes involving trains can often lead to fatalities due to the train’s massive size and inability to slow down quickly. An inoperative crossing sign or an inattentive engineer can cause devastating collisions. Did you lose a loved on in a train vs. car incident?
