According to KIRO, the accident occurred at about 2 a.m. near the intersection of Washington Avenue and 11th Street.

Officials say the 50-year-old man was attempting to assist a driver who had crashed into a parked car when the vehicle lurched backward and pinned the driver against a police car at the scene.
