News: Intentionally set fire destroys multiple buildings in Seattle

SEATTLE, WA – Multiple buildings were destroyed in an intentionally set fire in the 1000 block of Sturgus Avenue S on Friday morning.

According to the Seattle Fire Department’s Twitter Feed, the fire started sometime before 8:49 a.m. at a construction site, then quickly spread to nearby buildings.

All occupied buildings in close proximity were evacuated. Residents in the area were encouraged to shut their windows and doors to avoid smoke exposure.

It was later determined by the Seattle Fire Department that the fire was intentionally set and is under investigation.

At this time no injuries are reported.
