ROCHESTER, WA – A pickup truck crossed into the center lane of Old Highway 9 and hit a minivan head-on in Rochester on Thursday.
According to the Olympian, the incident occurred at about 5 p.m. The collision pushed the minivan into an embankment. Emergency responders airlifted the critically injured driver of the minivan to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
There were four children passengers in the minivan who all had minor injuries. Additionally, the pickup truck driver was treated for minor injuries. All were treated at the crash site.
The cleanup of the vehicles and debris took authorities two hours.
Local authorities reported the pickup driver of the truck was issued a citation and potentially faces charges. The citation is for driving without insurance. Whereas, the potential charges are for driving with a suspended license in the second-degree.
