Semi-truck runs into house after collision

On Behalf of | Apr 11, 2019 | Car Accidents |

Just because a driver is licensed does not mean that they should be driving. There are many times when motorists in Washington should not get behind the wheel of a vehicle. This can include when a driver is distracted, extremely emotional, fatigued or under the influence. A negligent driver is dangerous on the roadways, and their actions could lead to a serious or even fatal crash.

According to recent reports, a Seattle couple barely escaped death when a semi-truck crashed into their home. The collision happened in the early morning hours, and authorities believe the collision was a secondary crash. The investigation revealed that the initial crash involved a pick-up truck and the semi-truck.

Officers believe that the driver of the pick-up truck was intoxicated at the time of the collision. After the pick-up collided with the semi, the force of the crash caused the semi to travel through the yard and home. Both drivers involved in the crash suffered injuries and were transported to the hospital for medical treatment. The investigation is still ongoing, and it is not clear at this time whether criminal charges will be filed.

The aftermath of a car crash can be overwhelming. A victim is not only ill-prepared for the incident, but they are also unprepared for the injuries and damages that occurred because of it. It may be possible for the victim to seek legal recourse for their damages. A personal injury action is an option for accident victims. It could help one recover compensation to address losses caused by the crash.
