Cyclist killed in early morning crash in Seattle

On Behalf of | Jan 18, 2018 | Fatal Motor Vehicle Accidents |

Motorists share the road not only with other motorists but cyclists and pedestrians as well. Because of that, drivers need to be attentive at all hours of the day and night for bicyclists and pedestrians walking on or near the road. Failure to do so could result in a driver colliding with an unsuspecting person or cyclist.

This is what recently happened in an early morning collision in Seattle involving a motor vehicle and a cyclist. According to reports, the bicyclist was struck and killed by a car in Ballard at around 4:30 a.m. at the 7000 block of Seaview Avenue NW.

Authorities are still investigating the fatal bike crash. At this time, they only released that the victim was a male adult. Police reported that they did not detect any signs of impairment when assessing the driver of the vehicle; however, the involvement of alcohol has not been ruled out at this time. Once investigation is complete, authorities will be able to determine cause and liability.

The loss of a loved one is a devastating event, especially if it suddenly happens because of an accident. The carelessness and negligence of a motorist could suddenly rip a loved one away from you. Thus, surviving family members need to understand their rights and options when it comes to recovering compensation and holding a liable party accountable. A wrongful death suit could be that answer, and speaking to a legal professional can help you understand how to proceed with such an action.
