It’s dangerous out there

On Behalf of | Nov 17, 2015 | Car Accidents, Personal Injury |

wind.jpgIt’s been a bad day for traffic in the Seattle area today. It is extremely windy and the roads are wet. Please be careful out there.

One person was killed when a tree fell on his car around 1pm this afternoon near Monroe. A King County METRO driver was also injured when a tree fell through the windshield of her bus in Shoreline

Many other roads have been closed due to flooding, mudslides, and fallen trees. The Hood Canal Bridge was closed for over three hours due to high winds, but it is now open.

In Bellevue, there was a 15-car pileup on I-405 this morning, injuring four people and causing an 11-mile backup during rush hour.

By early afternoon, nearly 77,000 customers across the area were without power. All of San Juan County has lost electricity.

Needless to say, the dangers from the combination of heavy rain and high wind are real and have not yet dissipated. During this evening’s rush hour and into the night, please take all necessary precautions. Better yet, snuggle up with your loved ones and watch a movie tonight. You’ll probably be glad you stayed home.
